I recently purchased 2 of these cable locks to secure trail camera's to trees. Much to my shock after setting up my trail camera and securing (or so I thought) to the tree with this piece of junk called a cable lock, I discovered that the cable can be pulled through the lock with minimal force, allowing the cable to be pulled COMPLETELY out of the lock when it is LOCKED. YES, I checked to ensure I ran the cable through the lock correctly and YES I checked to ensure the lock was properly set with the key to the LOCK position. Fortunately I discovered this before my trail camera was stolen. BOTH cable locks did this. I STRONGLY recommend you check your locks to see if they can be pulled open as well before your property is stolen. I have another Python Cable lock that works just fine which leads me to think these may be fakes or they were not properly manufactured. This lock is a piece of JUNK and a RIP OFF.....DO NOT BUY!
On Edit: I checked one other of these locks that I ordered from a different supplier and the cable can be pulled out of the a LOCKED mechanism with minimal force. I have contacted Masterlock and reported the problem. They are sending me new locks. This appears to be a production line flaw. I find it VERY difficult to believe that 3 separate NEW locking cables from 2 separate suppliers all have the same defect. As it seems with everything else........these locking cables are manufactured in CHINA.

I purchased this Master Lock Python adjustable locking cable for outdoor purposes. So far I have found it to be very sound and weather resistant. This is a very good investment and I'll be looking to purchase more very soon.

The quality of this lock is amazing. I've got 2, one on each of my trail cameras. I suppose it could lock up about anything though.
